- Summary
- "Who Belongs Here? tells the story of Nary, a boy who was forced to flee his war-torn homeland and hopes to be accepted in the U.S. His grandmother promised him that America would be better than heaven. Now some of his new classmates think he should go back where he came from, but if he really belonged there, why would he have left? And if everyone whose family came from another place had to leave America, how many of us would remain? Complementing Nary's tale are short anecdotes about the experiences of refugees throughout U.S. history. A back-of-book compendium provides more background about immigrant history and contributions to American progress."--Page [4] of cover
