"Global Color: Clues & Taboos" is an invaluable guide to color symbolism in different global cultures. Section I explores the factors that influence color meanings in different global cultures - religion, politics, climate, gender, age and other influences that play a powerful role. The issue of transculturalism (globalization ) vs. ethnocentrism - as these affect color perceptions - is presented as a fundamental consideration for defining color meanings within different demographic global sectors. Section II presents extensive research about the specific symbolism of individual colors in different countries and cultures. The information is grouped per the following color categories: red, pink, purple, blue, green, yellow, gold, orange, brown, black, grey, and white. Subsequent information covers color variations and color combinations. Each color is defined in terms of general symbolism, religious symbolism and national and regional symbolism.
