Summary
Harlem Aria is a New York fable-- about race and class, and a 28-year-old black man named Anton. Harlem laundry worker Anton is "slow" and child-like, and has lived with his aunt for most of his life. His secret ambition is to become a famous tenor. Frustrated at home, he runs away to pursue his dreams in Italy and to find his hero, tenor Fabiano Grazzi, but he is conned out of his life savings by Wes, a heartless street hustler. He is then discovered by Matthew, a bitter street musician who dreams of being a concert pianist. The three men's lives entwine and lead each down a path of destruction, truth, and redemption
