- Detectives Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler are joined by detectives John Munch and Fin Tutuola, and ADA Alex Cabot. This unit deals with the crimes that are painful, emotional, and disturbing. These detectives, who work in a special unit of the police department known as the Special Victims Unit, work the sexually based crimes such as rape, torture, pedophilia and child-abuse
